WASHINGTON, DC – Broadband for America’s (BfA) South Carolina Chapter, which includes the South Carolina Black Chamber of Commerce, the South Carolina Farm Bureau, South Carolina Hospital Association and the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance as some of its members, today congratulated the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the hard work and dedication it has shown in developing the National Broadband Plan (NBP).
The below statement was released by Broadband for America (BfA) South Carolina Chapter Member Larry Holeman of the South Carolina Black Chamber of Commerce:
“We applaud the Federal Communications Commission for their tireless work and the completion of the long awaited National Broadband Plan. This plan represents both a monumental achievement and an important step in what will prove to be a long journey. It is our hope that this will result in broadband Internet access for every South Carolinian. We look forward to working with the FCC to achieve our goal of universal access through a public/private partnership. Broadband access will play a vital role as South Carolina addresses the economic, social, healthcare, and educational challenges we face.”
