Pew Report Further Evidence of Minority Broadband Adoption

A recent poll by the Pew Research Center Internet & American Life Project showed that minority groups were more likely to use popular video-sharing sites, such as YouTube. Of the 71 percent of those who reported using video-sharing sites, 81 percent of respondents were Hispanic and 76 percent were African-American.Read more

Minority Groups are Top Twitter Adopters

According to a new survey from the Pew Research Center, minority groups continue to sign up for Twitter at higher rates and are twice as likely to be active on the site than the general population. Findings of the report show 25 percent of black Web users and 19 percent of Hispanics are on Twitter, while only 9 percent of whites use the micro-blogging service.Read more

New Report Shows Broadband Adoption On The Rise But Challenges Remain

The Department of Commerce has released a new report that shows a narrowing of the digital divide. From 2001 to 2009, home broadband adoption grew from 9 percent to 64 percent. Further, more than 7 out of 10 U.S. households use the Internet on a regular basis. However, the study also found that usage gaps still remain, particularly amongst rural and minority populations.
