Broadband for America Announces Alabama Coalition
Posted March 12th, 2010 by BfA StaffBroadband for America today announced the formation of its Alabama Coalition. Broadband for America’s Alabama Coalition will focus on developing programs that deliver the message that broadband is creating jobs, fostering the growth of small businesses, and enhancing the lives of every citizen in the state.
Dr. Bernadette Chapple, Director of the Center for Research and Public Policy at the Alabama State University said, “There is no question that in today’s competitive environment at all levels of education – elementary, secondary and post-secondary – that students who can utilize the Internet through a high-speed broadband connection have a huge advantage over students who must rely on a dial-up connection or no Internet access at all. In Alabama’s cities, we have to make sure every student has the ability to make the highest and best use of broadband access to Internet.”
