Earlier today, the FCC held a workshop on developing a Cybersecurity Roadmap. Suggested by the National Broadband Plan, this roadmap is intended to address federal cybersecurity threats to our communications infrastructure.

It is encouraging that the FCC invited experts from many high-tech companies to participate, including members of Broadband for America.

We hope that as this process moves forward, it continues to be a public-private partnership, seeking solutions with consumers’ best interests in mind.

This should not be taken as another opportunity for more mandates and new government regulations.

By working together, the FCC and the high-tech community will be able to come up with best practices to address our online security.
