There are several more broadband projects being announced this week in states across the country. Here is a look at some of the projects being used to expand access, increase adoption and create jobs:

In Indiana: The state has received a $25.1 million dollar grant to increase broadband access to 80 underserved communities with 620 miles of fiber cable that will also connect the state’s 21 Ivy Tech Community College campuses.

In New Hampshire: The state is launching an ambitious five-year-plan aimed to create broadband access in rural areas. Every six months, information will be collected detailing where high-speed Internet access has been created, where it’s still lacking and what obstacles stand in the way.

In Pennsylvania: Several of the state’s universities will help develop a new broadband network through a national broadband stimulus grant. The project will help connect 22 underserved communities as part of a larger 1,700 mile high-speed Internet line.

And in Wisconsin: The state is launching its own broadband effort. During a local announcement, a White House official was on hand to discuss job creation as part of the broadband stimulus:

President Obama's Deputy Commerce Secretary, Dennis Hightower, was also present for the announcement. Hightower said the White House has estimated that rougly 50,000 jobs will be created nationwide through the $7-billion commitment for broadband. Some of those jobs will be direct, such as hiring workers to dig trenches and lay cables. Others will be indirect, including teachers and entrepreneurs.
