The New Democratic Leadership Council has released a report today from DLC Senior Fellow and Economist Jessica Milano on the role of broadband in creating new jobs: “Where Jobs Come From: The Role of Innovation, Investment, and Infrastructure in Economic and Job Growth.” The report was made possible in cooperation with AT&T, who provided research essential to the project.

From the study’s overview:

“This new Report brings into sharp focus the fact that job creation is closely tied to business investment, and calls on the Obama Administration to create an economic climate in the U.S. that encourages businesses to invest and innovate.  Milano also makes the case for why it’s important for the Unites States to cease relying on consumption-driven economic growth, and instead foster growth that comes from long-term investment in broadband and wireless infrastructure, information technology, new energy technologies, smart grids and high speed transportation. “

DLC CEO Bruce Reed will appear on CNBC today to discuss the details fo the study.
