The city of Minneapolis announced that it will soon begin to offer free Wi-Fi access to local residents. The city is deploying 117 “hotspots” around the city for the “Wireless Minneapolis” project:

City Council Member Gary Schiff said “A wireless city benefits everyone in the community whether you’re a resident, business owner or visitor,”  ”By investing in the tools, training and technology necessary to increase Internet access for all, we’ve found new ways to connect to our community and for our community to connect to the world.” Read more about the project here.
