Privacy and consumer protection concerns have recently been a popular topic of conversation on Capitol Hill. Earlier this week, a new "Do Not Track" bill was introduced and a hearing on mobile privacy was held in the Senate. Policymakers are continuing the conversations, most recently addressing Facebook privacy flaws.

On Wednesday, Representatives Edward Markey and Joe Barton sent a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg questioning the social network’s privacy policy and a recent security flaw that gave advertisers a way to access users’ personal information. "This issue is one that cannot be ignored and our concerns about Facebook’s privacy policies are continuously increasing," the Representatives wrote. The recent letter follows a letter sent by the pair last fall questioning how Facebook apps handle user information.
