Internet Provides Access To Jobs
With a national unemployment rate of 9.1 percent and many Americans looking for work, job openings are sought after, sometimes, by overwhelmingly large applicant pools. That scenario can lead to businesses struggling to match candidates with the right job skills to positions, and job-seekers feeling frustration as they look for opportunities. The Internet and online jobs sites such as Monster.com are working to alleviate the stress for both companies and applicants alike. Virtual job fairs provide an online forum where applicants can visit "booths" organized by company name or job field. In the booths, they will find information about the company and positions available. Some companies will even offer one-on-one chats with recruiters. Businesses are then able to sort through interested candidates –inviting qualified individuals back for interviews. Additionally, online job fairs can save companies both time and money.
