In an attempt to better link policies with the technologies they affect, the FCC recently converted a corner of their library into a "technology experience center". The experience center allows FCC employees to interact with the latest gadgets from companies that are directly impacted by FCC regulations. "Having hands-on experience with cutting-edge devices, it’s just common sense. It will help the staff to understand better how to promote more cutting-edge innovation, how policies will effect it and what the opportunities are," said FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski.

The first exhibit in the tech experience center focused on broadband-enabled devices, such as smartphones and Internet-equipped televisions, that have increased the demand for spectrum. Next month, a new display will focus on another relevant theme. Potential topics might include healthcare or education.
