These attacks are among the hundreds of online security breaches which have occurred this year alone. Considering the threats, it is unsurprising there is a concern over Internet security in America. Some progress is being made to ramp up security efforts in the United States. Security experts are deploying a new worldwide system which will identify Internet address, making it difficult to forge a Website. Additionally, the administration has proposed legislation with provisions to ensure that companies running on critical infrastructure have the necessary systems to reduce the risk of cyberattacks.

As a New York Times editorial points out, "online security is continuously evolving as hackers and security experts work to outwit each other".
